Expose

At Donovan High School, everyone knows who’s popular, who’s invisible, and who’s dangerous to be seen with.

Dalton Kopay is the school’s golden boy—star quarterback, boyfriend to the head cheerleader, and an easy lock for prom king.

What no one knows is that he’s quietly, desperately in love with Linus Schroeder, a musical prodigy whose talent earns standing ovations—and whose softness makes him a target.

Their relationship exists in stolen moments, coded looks, and the shared fear that being seen could cost them everything.

Quinton Marks sees himself as different. Openly gay, unapologetically ambitious, and already dreaming of a Pulitzer Prize, he believes the truth should never stay hidden—especially when hypocrisy runs the halls. When he uncovers evidence of Dalton and Linus' secret relationship, Quinton plans an exposé that will catapult him from yearbook editor to investigative journalist. His plan culminates in a reveal no one can ignore: prom night.

Told through three intersecting perspectives, Expose unfolds in fractures and collisions. As truths surface and lines are crossed, each boy must reckon with the violence of exposure: the harm done by silence, the torment that comes with revelation, and the cost of deciding who gets to tell someone else’s story.

In the aftermath, Dalton, Linus, and Quinton are forced into an uneasy alliance—one that demands accountability, empathy, and a redefinition of courage. Expose is a raw, contemporary coming-of-age novel about queer survival, ambition, and the ways we hurt each other while trying to be seen.
